Every single day, 50 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia. Our researchers in the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories and led by Professor Wayne Tilley work on research programs to improve disease outcomes by deeply understanding the role of sex hormones in tumour behaviour. Their research is used to develop new drugs and treatments.

This year, the University of Adelaide, Adelaide University Sport and the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer are teaming up and taking part in the Mother’s Day Classic walk and fun run which will be held on Sunday 12th May (Mother's Day).

We invite students, staff, alumni, their friends and family to take part and help raise funds to support breast cancer research. Team members will receive a free University of Adelaide Mother's Day Classic team t-shirt and will have access to the post-race hub with refreshments. There is no cost to join the University team but team members will need to finalise their own registration on the Mother's Day Classic site.
