AU Sport Awards - The Blues

Posted By Sports Development Officer on 12/09/2017

This year, AU Sport has seen a great number of member successes with over 100 students and club members being selected in a National or State team, winning a State Championship or being recognised at competition level. A number of AU Sport clubs are also in the running for Premierships and of course, our club volunteers are the backbone for all on and off field successes.

Recognising and rewarding athlete and volunteer success plays a key role in building a positive club culture. One way AU Sport Clubs can do this, is to nominate athletes and volunteers for one of many AU Sport Awards. These will be presented at the Blues Awards on Wednesday 22 November at the National Wine Centre.

RA Goode received the first Blue for the University in 1908 for his achievements in Tennis. In 2016, AU Sport will present Blues, Half Blues and Club letters to many deserving club members.

A number of other awards are presented at the Blues Awards including ‘Coach of the Year’ (Elite), ‘Coach of the Year’ (Development), ‘Volunteer of the Year’ (Student) and ‘Volunteer of the Year’ (non-Student). These awards were introduced in 2015 and we have seen some worthy winners. Click here for more information and nomination forms for these awards.

Clubs are asked to nominate suitable members for the above mentioned awards and all nominations must be received by Friday 13 October.

Tickets are now available online.
