Adelaide University Scuba Diving Club

General Information:

The Adelaide University Skindiving Club (AUSC) is one of the largest scuba diving clubs in South Australia. We have over 100 members of varying experience ranging from beginners to instructors. The AUSC is geared towards providing affordable and accessible diving for students. A boat dive and all scuba gear supplied will costs a maximum of $35. Membership fees are $10/yr for students and $15/yr for non students.

Local dives are organised every weekend, and midweek night and dawn dives are also popular. Regular trips to the South Coast, Yorke Peninsula, Eyre Peninsula and the South East are organised over weekends, long weekends and holiday breaks.

The club has two well equipped dive boats, a compressor and banks unit for air fills and hires out modern scuba units. Every year the club organises a dive course for its new members. Please contact a committee member if you are interested in an Open Water or Advanced dive course. Alternatively, you can contact one of the many dive shops in Adelaide (under Scuba Diving Schools in the Yellow Pages) to find out the cost of a course and when it starts.

Our club rooms are located at the end of Foreman Street, West Beach. Meetings are held every Thursday night between 6.00 to 7.30 pm to plan the weekend and following week's activities. During meetings, we socialise over a few drinks and regular BBQs. Social events include cocktail nights, movies of club diving and events, annual dinner and all the fun and frivolity of weekend and holiday trips.

Members are kept up to date with upcoming dives and club activities through the “announce” email list and monthly newsletters.

Check out the club website for information on hire prices, subscription to the “announce” email list, newsletters, photos and videos and more!
