Although cricket had been played at the University from its beginnings, it was not until 1907 that the Adelaide University Cricket Club ("AUCC") was formed.  In season 2007/08 the AUCC celebrated its centenary.

The AUCC has an impressive and proud history as one of the longest established Clubs of the South Australian Cricket Association ("SACA").  The AUCC has won four A Grade premierships (1925/26, 1992/93, 1994/95 and 1997/98), played in numerous A Grade finals matches, and has won a number of premierships in the lower SACA grades and in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Competition ("ATCA").

The AUCC presently fields teams in the SACA A, B, C and D Grade 2-day competitions.  The AUCC's A grade side plays in the leading cricket competition in the State and so our players are representing the Adelaide University at the highest domestic level possible.

The AUCC also field four teams in the ATCA one day (50 over) competition.  Accordingly, there are opportunities for players of all levels to play at a standard appropriate to their ability and ambition.  All games are played on turf wickets.

Each year the AUCC plays at least one 3 day game against another University, traditionally Melbourne University Cricket Club or Sydney University Cricket Club.

The AUCC has a strong, well-credentialed and highly experienced coaching panel, who are able to attend to all of the players’ technical coaching and game development requirements. The AUCC is extremely confident that any player will have the support and assistance to enable him to reach his full potential.

The magnificent playing fields at our disposal are an integral part of the AUCC’s heritage and the proximity of these playing fields to the Adelaide University makes it possible for undergraduates to continue to play the game of cricket whilst they are pursuing their studies.

The AUCC’s A and B grade teams play at beautiful University Oval #1, generally considered the finest grade cricket ground in Adelaide.  The AUCC’s C and D grade teams’ play at Park 10 No. 1 on McKinnon Parade. The AUCC’s four ATCA teams are fortunate to have the use of University No. 2 (at the eastern side of University Oval) and Park 10 No. 2 for their home games.

Trainings take place at the northern end of University Oval #1 on the turf practice wickets.  During inclement weather the hard nets at the southern end will be used.

The AUCC's social base in the Queens Head Hotel, 117 Kermode Street, North Adelaide.  The Queens Head offers meal and drink deals to all players and their families.
