Australian Under 14 Girls National Team Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, has selected a squad of 30 players to attend a training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra from Thursday 21 May to Sunday 24 May. From this training camp, a final squad of 22 players will be selected to represent Australia at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under 14 Girls - Festival of Football, which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 17 June to 30 June. Hopkins, along with Matildas Head Coach, Tom Sermanni, and FFA National Technical Director Han Berger, selected the squad from the recent FFA National Junior Championships, which were held in Canberra. Congratulations to Kiara from all at Adelaide Uni!
Two South Australian players, Kiara Fragomeli (Adelaide University SC) and Jessica Waterhouse (Cumberland United), have been selected.
Both of these players have been involved in Development Programs conducted by the FFSA and their selection into this squad illustrates the career pathway that is available for girls and women in football. The Football Family wishes both girls the best of luck in their quest for National representation.
