100 year Boat shed hosts ABC radio show

Adelaide University’s historical Boat shed on War Memorial Drive will be the venue for the 2009 SA History Week ABC outside radio broadcast on Friday, 22 May from 1 to 4pm.

The theme of the broadcast, to be hosted by popular radio duo, Carole Whitelock and Peter Goers, will be based on the River Torrens.

The broadcast will explore the history of the River Torrens as well as more contemporary issues.

During the broadcast, Robyn Brown, the Director of the University’s Development & Alumni division, will speak on the University’s Heritage Foundation, while various personalities from the Adelaide University (AU) Boat club are also expected to be interviewed.

The Boat shed and the nearby Grandstand at the University’s No. 1 oval will shortly be renovated through a partnership of financial supporters including the University, various benefactors, the AU Football, Cricket & Boat clubs and the AU Sports Association.
