Executive Dean of the Engineering, Computer & Mathematical Sciences faculty, Professor Peter Dowd, receives this week's Sports Award.
In a nice touch, Peter met his winning Vice-Chancellor's Cup team in his office today (23 September) to congratulate and thank the four members for participating in the inaugural event.
Each member was presented with a framed certificate of appreciation and a gift certificate.
There was some discussion on the origins of the 100 year cup; the potential for the faculty to win the cup again in 2010 and deciding on a suitable place to display the cup!
And the faculty provided lunch for the team following a training run a couple of days prior to the running of the race.
Engineering has certainly set a standard for all of the other faculties to match in 2010.
