101st Blues Awards

The AUSA hosted the 101st Annual Blues Awards on Thursday 26 November. The awards were held in the Adelaide University Equinox Function Room, which was colourfully decorated with balloons and flower arrangements. The ceremony consisted of speeches by guest speaker, Wayne Jackson, former CEO of the AFL, the unveiling of the life members’ honour board by Dr. Barbara Orchard and presentations of Scholarship, Blue, Half Blue and Club Letter winners. Recipients of these awards were members of Judo, Hockey, Water Ski, Fencing, Soccer, Cricket, Rugby Union, Ultimate Frisbee, Touch, Boat, Volleyball, Football and Athletics.

Guests were treated to a Jazz duo, alcoholic beverages and food canapés as some of the top AUSA members were acknowledged for their contribution and achievements to their sport and club. Special mention must go to the Scholarship winners, Ursula Menz and Meredith Coleman, both from the Fencing Club and Andres Munoz-Lamilla, from the Athletics Club. Also, congratulations to the Blue winners, Lucy Hyde and Jeffrey Duncan from the Boat Club and Kym Butcher from the Volleyball Club.

The event was deemed a success by the 150 guests and Blues Committee members, with one guest stating that “the evening had a lovely elegant feel”. The AUSA would like to thank all those who attended and congratulate the award winners on their success.
